The Provincial Investment Promotion Initiative started in 2009 to encourage business investments by domestic and foreign businesses and encourage provincial authorities to improve the business enabling environment.  The initiative has been well-supported by the Council for the Development of Cambodia and Governor’s cabinets of the provincial governments. To leverage the success of the investment promotion initiatives, the USAID Cambodia MSME Project facilitated a mission to Singapore in December 2010.  The “Investment Opportunities in Cambodia” mission to Singapore was intended as an investment promotion activity to private businesses and investors based in Singapore, allowing Cambodian private sector and government representatives to present Cambodia as an active environment and partner for investment. The event was considered a success with a considerably high number of Singapore and Cambodian participants expressing their satisfaction and appreciation.

To complement the Singapore mission, the Project will facilitate an inward investment mission from Singapore to Cambodia, which is scheduled to take place from the 9 to 11 March, 2011. The Singapore mission participants will be invited to share lunch with the Cambodia AMCHAM on the 11th of March.

Participants can look forward to gaining useful knowledge and insights on investment in Cambodia as well as Business-to-Business meetings with the visiting Singapore firms and investors.
